Born in 1947 in Kalamazoo, MI, Frank Way began taking photos in the mid-1960s while serving in the United States Air Force. In 1968 he won the United States Air Force photography contest. After serving in the military, Frank studied art at Indiana University and later attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, majoring in business. In 1990 he began studying under Mr. Joseph Englander, world-renowned writer and landscape photographer.
Frank, who today resides in Lincoln, NE, works mainly in large (4x5 & 8x10) and panorama (6x17) formats. His images have appeared in numerous magazines, including American Way, Audubon, National Parks, Sierra, Outside, Mountain Living, Photo Trade and Southwest Spirit. His work is held in several private and corporate collections and permanent displays. Fuji Photo Film USA has also commissioned his work for use as promotional product and exhibition prints.
After putting every limited edition Images of the Land print through a rigid proofing process, Frank personally signs and numbers each. He also hand selects top of the line printing materials to ensure that the splendor of the image can be shared for generations to come.
